Nan Starr is an artist, mediator, restorative justice advocate and ukulele-ist.  She began playing ukulele in 2014 when the Zeiterion Theater and Symhony Music Shop gave away ukuleles to thirty lucky people who made up the original Zukes Ukulele Orchestra.  She went on to play for three years under the tutelage of Jeff Angeley, helping form the Mighty Uketones. She has played with several other regional ukulele configurations, including her trio, the Ukatonics.  Nan Starr is currently developing and teaching a ukulele program at Our Sisters' School in Dartmouth.
