from 40.00

These little books are quick and simple to make, they make great gifts and can be treasured for years to come.  In this fundamental bookmaking work shop we will learn the “Meander” or “Maze” Accordion Book. Participants will be shown step by step and gently guided through the process of making an eight or 16-page booklet.  You’ll learn how to add a cover, decorate it, and use ribbon to tie it all together. First, we will learn the folds, where to cut and glue, how and where to place a tie for closure; after these steps you’ll be shown how to place quotes, pictures or other decorations within this 2 ½ square inch book. We will learn how to make two different covers.  Book pages may be left plain, or you may turn them into quote books or love letters, even little stories. Paper for the booklet plus covers and ribbons will be supplied. Participants are welcome to bring their own decorative paper, quotes, pictures, stickers or other embellishments they wish to add to their book (they should be no larger than 2 to 2 ¼ inches square) as well as any special ribbon, cord, lace or decorations with which to personalize their books.
