CG202 - HAND-BUILDING WITH CLAY - TECHNIQUE SAMPLER

Make a variety of functional forms using a variety of hand-building techniques. Make bowls, plates, mugs and a lidded vessel using slabs, coils and pinching techniques.  Once basic techniques are learned, students can work on special projects of their own designs. Students can also try their hand at using the potter’s wheel.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Karen Minati Snyder has a BFA degree in sculpture from C.W. Post College (LIU) and a Master of Art Education from UMASS Dartmouth where she specialized in ceramics. She has taught pre-school, elementary, middle school and high school art in public and private schools. Many area adults have taken ceramic classes in her Dartmouth home studio. She has studied jewelry and kiln fired glass at Metalwerx in Waltham, Worcester Center for Crafts, Brookfield Craft Center in Connecticut and Snow Farm in Amherst.

  • $35 clay, glazing and firing fee payable to instructor at the beginning of class.
