CG204 - ADULT JEWELRY SAMPLER

Learn the basic skills needed to create jewelry in sterling silver.  Students will work with wire, learn beading techniques, sawing, drilling, piercing, soldering and how to create bezel settings. Students will make fused Argentium© silver earrings, a textured bracelet using a rolling mill, and a pendant with a set stone.

INSTRUCTOR BIO:

Karen Minati Snyder has a BFA degree in sculpture from C.W. Post College (LIU) and a Master of Art Education from UMASS Dartmouth where she specialized in ceramics. She has taught pre-school, elementary, middle school and high school art in public and private schools. Many area adults have taken ceramic classes in her Dartmouth home studio. She has studied jewelry and kiln fired glass at Metalwerx in Waltham, Worcester Center for Crafts, Brookfield Craft Center in Connecticut and Snow Farm in Amherst.
