CC100A - JEWELRY MAKING - BEADING SAMPLER

In this class you will learn to design and create your own costume jewelry. Claire will work individually with students to learn the basics of design, threading, crimping, wire wrapping and needle work. Projects may include necklaces, bracelets, earrings and a variety of styles including Carousel bracelets, the tree of life pendant, the stellar bracelet and multiple strand necklaces.

Materials list to be purchased by student prior to class.

  • Flat nosed pliers

  • Round nosed pliers

  • Small jewelry scissors and side cutters

Items above can all be purchased in a kit in the jewelry section of AC Moore or Michael’s.

Additional materials for projects will be discussed with the instructor on the first day of class.

Instructor Bio

Claire Thibodeau has earned her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Rhode Island College.  She has taught art for over 30 years locally in Tiverton and New Bedford Public schools. Upon retirement she developed a love for jewelry making and has been creating jewelry for over a decade.  She has taught workshops at a variety of venues and has shown her work at craft fairs and home shows.

  • Plus $20 materials fee paid to the instructor at the beginning of class.
