GENERAL Course, POLICIES, REGISTRATION, and Admission INFORMATION

  • Dartmouth Cultural Center courses are open to participants 18 years of age and older, unless the course is especially for children.

  • When you are officially enrolled, your name is placed in the class roster as soon as we receive your online or in person registration form and payment.

  • Please note that we do not send written confirmations (unless one is requested, and an email address is provided).

  • Please consider your Squarespace emailed receipt acknowledgement of registration.

  • Unless we contact you, please assume that you are enrolled in the class(es) of your choice. 

  • Students will be notified in the event that their courses don’t run due to lack of enrollment. 

  • Classes enrollment minimums are specific to each class or workshop.  Call ahead for details. Most classes and workshops are at capacity at 12.

Registration

  • Registration for classes and workshops starts when available online for each semester.

Scholarships and Discounts

  • All members of the Dartmouth Cultural Center receive a $5 to $10 discount on course fees (excluding material, food, or other fees and contracted courses).

  • Presently, the Dartmouth Cultural Center does not offer scholarships, but we hope to be able to do so in the future.

Program Changes

  • The program reserves the right to cancel classes that are under-enrolled, to change dates, times, and locations when necessary, and to substitute instructors.

  • We will contact you with all cancellations and changes to course dates, times, and locations.

  • If classes are cancelled at Dartmouth Public Schools due to weather conditions classes will be cancelled at the Dartmouth Cultural Center.

  • Makeup sessions will be scheduled at the instructor’s discretion.

Wait list

  • All classes are limited to 12 unless otherwise noted.

  • If the class you wish to register for is filled, you will be placed on a wait list.

  • Our office will contact you if space becomes available.

  • Please note: you are not officially enrolled if you are still on a wait list.

Refunds

Before the start of class, we will refund your full tuition if:

  • Your course is cancelled due to low enrollment.

  • If you withdraw from a class at least three business days (72 hours) in advance of starting time, you may request a refund, minus a $10 processing fee.

  • Food Classes/workshops: In order to receive a refund for a food course we must have at least five (5) business days’ notice in advance of the starting time of the class. No refunds are given after this time.

PLEASE Be aware

  • Special events and lectures are non-refundable.

  • If you pre-register for drop in sessions, tuition can only be refunded with 24-hours’ notice before the class start time.

  • No refunds are given for changes to locations or instructors.

  • Refunds will not be given for rescheduled one-session classes.

  • Refunds will not be given in cash.

  • Credit card refunds will be processed within five to seven business days.

  • Refunds issued by check will be processed within four weeks.

  • We regret that NO refunds or partial refunds are allowed after the start of classes.

Transfers

  • You may NOT transfer to any other class offered during the term. 

  • You may decide to transfer before classes start, but must notify the Dartmouth Cultural Center in person, or by mail one week before classes start to allow for proper notification to instructors.

  • Note: All refunds or transfers must be made in person or by phone (508 991 0484 ) during regular business hours.

    • Requests made outside of these hours, including weekends and holidays, will not be accepted or processed.

Materials Fees

  • Materials fees are paid to the instructor by the student on the first day of class.

  • Materials are the responsibility of the teacher if there is a materials fee, or the responsibility of the student if there is a materials list. 

  • The Dartmouth Cultural Center provides limited equipment (tables, sinks, paper towel) in some cases, but not materials  

Liabilities

  • Participants in the Dartmouth Cultural Center programs do so at their own risk and agree to waive and release any and all claims of personal injury or property damage they may have arising from this participation against the Dartmouth Cultural Center, its agents, employees or faculty.  The Center CAN NOT be responsible for personal property in the building.

Parking

  • Parking is limited in Padanaram Village, so carpooling or drop offs are always encouraged, and try the side streets, but in the event that you cannot find a place to park, limited parking is available behind St. Peter’s church. 

  • Parking is always at the vehicle owners own risk and the Dartmouth Cultural Center accepts no responsibility for tickets, towing or any other vehicular mishaps.

  • We encourage communication. 

  • If you need help with anything, please ask. 

  • If you have an issue or are disgruntled, please talk to our Program Coordinator, or anyone else on staff. 

  • We want this to be a positive, encouraging, enriching environment.
