Dartmouth Cultural Center Out & About
Inside the Workshop with Gary Adriance
Wednesday, September 16 | 6 PM
Adriance Furnituremakers | 288 Gulf Road, Dartmouth
Go behind the scenes with the Dartmouth Cultural Center for a special visit to the workshop of local furniture maker and designer Gary Adriance.
Gary has been making furniture for more than five decades. At Adriance Furnituremakers in Padanaram, his work draws on traditional American furniture making and time honored techniques including hand curt dovetails, mortise and tenon joinery, carving and hand finishing.
During our visit, Gary will welcome us into his working shop to share the materials, tools and techniques behind his work, offering an up close look at craftsmanship designed to last for generations.
Look for Gary’s distinctive Starwheel, hand carved into Adriance pieces as a mark
of authenticity, and learn how historic New England furniture continues to
influence his work today.
Join us for an evening of craftsmanship, conversation and a rare opportunity to see where the work happens.
