Get out of automatic mode and discover what your camera can really do.
Designed for beginners, this three-week course will help you become more comfortable and confident using your DSLR camera while learning how to create stronger, more intentional photographs.
Through hands-on instruction, you’ll explore your camera’s controls and the fundamentals of composition, shutter speed, exposure and depth of field. Weekly photo assignments will give you a chance to put what you learn into practice, with supportive review and feedback in class.

Instructor Bio
Joan-Marie Proulx is a Juried Fine Art Photographer who enjoys taking photographs of landscapes, ocean scenes, flowers and more. A juried member of the Cape Cod Art Center in Hyannis and the Bierstadt Art Society in New Bedford. She has won numerous awards for her photographic work and has several published photographs. Her work has been exhibited in many galleries across New England. Joan-Marie mentors other photographers and has taught several workshops including macro photography, one of her favorite genres.
